Speaking at the launch held at the corporation’s office on Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, Lagos, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ayodeji Joseph, said the new platform reflects the need for public institutions to adapt to changing customer expectations and advances in technology.
Joseph noted that LSDPC has been involved in Lagos’ development since 1972 and must continue to improve how it serves residents as the state grows and digital services become more widely used.
He explained that the initiative goes beyond introducing new technology, describing it as an effort to make the corporation’s services more accessible and convenient for customers.
According to him, public institutions have a responsibility to review their existing processes regularly, identify areas that require improvement and adopt suitable innovations that make it easier for people to access their services.
Joseph encouraged customers and stakeholders to embrace PayPortal, saying the platform provides an additional way to manage their payment obligations without being limited to conventional processes.
The corporation’s Head of Information Technology, Monisola Oyewo, said the portal was developed to improve the customer experience while reducing difficulties associated with payment transactions.
Oyewo explained that the platform includes a centralised customer dashboard through which users can view and track their transaction history. She added that data protection and the security of customers’ financial information were considered during its development.
She said the portal was designed to provide a more seamless payment experience, allowing customers to conduct transactions remotely rather than having to rely on physical visits to the corporation’s offices.
The launch represents another step in LSDPC’s digital transformation efforts as public institutions increasingly adopt technology to improve efficiency and make services more accessible.
Customers can access the platform through the official LSDPC website at lsdpc.gov.ng and follow the PayPortal link to proceed. Users should ensure they are on the corporation’s official website before entering account or payment details.
