The developments were contained in an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The operations reportedly targeted suspected terrorists and their support networks in Kaga and Gwoza Local Government Areas.

According to the report, troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade Garrison, working with Hybrid Force personnel, carried out an ambush along the Targejeri axis of Kaga at about 12:37 a.m. on October 25.

The military said six suspected terrorists were killed during the encounter. Items reportedly recovered included an AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 169 rounds of ammunition, two Android phones, three basic mobile phones and charms.

In a related operation, troops arrested six additional suspected collaborators during a follow-up raid in Benisheikh, Kaga, at about 6:20 a.m. on October 24. The arrests brought the total number of suspects held in connection with the investigation to 11, including five previously arrested individuals.

The report listed other items recovered during the raid, including three terrorist uniforms, a turban, a face covering, mobile phones, ammunition and firearm magazines.

The suspects are undergoing investigation to determine their alleged roles in terrorist activities and establish whether they had links to other members of the network.

In a separate development, troops of the 192 Battalion, supported by Hybrid Force personnel at an internally displaced persons’ camp in Hambagda, Gwoza, received the surrender of a suspected JAS member at about 9:20 p.m. on Saturday.

The operational report said preliminary investigations indicated that the individual had escaped from a terrorist enclave in the Mandara Mountains area of Gwoza and decided to abandon the group.

The individual reportedly surrendered with an AK-47 rifle and a magazine containing 28 rounds of ammunition. The military said the person remained in custody for further investigation and processing under established procedures.

Operation Hadin Kai said its ongoing activities were aimed at disrupting terrorist operations, identifying suspected support networks and encouraging members of armed groups to surrender.

The military also urged residents to provide credible and timely information to security agencies, saying cooperation with local communities was important to improving security and creating conditions for displaced people to return home safely.

The reported arrests and battlefield results have not been independently verified. The 11 individuals described as collaborators remain suspects, and their alleged involvement must be established through the appropriate investigative and legal processes.
