In a statement signed by his Senior Legislative Aide, Mubeen Musa, the lawmaker also congratulated the re-elected vice chairmen and councillors across the various wards. He acknowledged the contributions of party members and supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s success in the polls.
The federal lawmaker urged party leaders and stakeholders to maintain the unity, mobilisation and cooperation that contributed to the party’s performance, saying the same level of commitment would be important as preparations continue for the January 16, 2027, general elections.
He called on APC members to work together towards securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Idris also commended Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as providing an enabling environment for the peaceful conduct of the local government elections. He pointed to the APC’s sweep of all chairmanship and councillorship seats as a significant outcome for the ruling party.
The Kogi lawmaker further pledged to maintain cooperation with the two council administrations, noting that effective collaboration between federal and local representatives could support development initiatives, strengthen service delivery and address the needs of residents across Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu.
The re-election of the two chairmen comes as the newly returned local government administrations prepare to continue their work on grassroots governance and community development.
