The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Segun Aina, led discussions with CBT centre operators, the board’s zonal directors and state coordinators as part of a broader initiative to strengthen accountability, improve coordination and make the examination process more responsive to candidates’ needs.

The engagements took place during the 2026 Global Customer Service Week, themed “Going the Extra Mile.” According to reports on the board’s activities, the discussions were intended to address concerns raised by centre operators and identify ways to improve candidates’ experiences from registration through examination day.

JAMB emphasised that effective cooperation between the board and accredited CBT centres is essential to ensuring that examinations run smoothly and that candidates receive reliable services.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining consistent operational standards, improving communication and ensuring that examination centres are adequately prepared for their responsibilities.

JAMB Focuses on Accountability and Candidate Experience

The meeting with CBT centre operators formed part of a wider series of consultations involving government agencies, technology partners and other institutions.

Aina said the engagements were designed to make JAMB more efficient, responsive and focused on the people it serves.

The board’s wider discussions also covered financial management, payroll administration, remittances and fiscal accountability. Other engagements addressed fair access to opportunities, the provision of accurate information and the use of technology to improve service delivery.

JAMB also explored potential collaboration with the National Orientation Agency to promote accurate information and strengthen examination integrity among young Nigerians.

These efforts reflect the board’s focus on improving not only examination operations but also the administrative processes that support candidates and other stakeholders.

Accredited Centres Remain Critical to Examination Integrity

CBT centres play a central role in JAMB examinations, providing the facilities and technical support required to conduct computer-based tests.

The board operates a centre management system for the administration, accreditation and monitoring of CBT facilities. Compliance with its requirements is important for ensuring that centres meet the standards expected for registration and examination activities.

Through its latest stakeholder engagements, JAMB is seeking stronger coordination with centre operators and more effective responses to operational challenges that may affect candidates.

For prospective candidates, the emphasis on improved service delivery and examination readiness is particularly important as the board continues to administer admission examinations for entry into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

JAMB has reiterated the importance of cooperation among its officials, accredited centres and other stakeholders in maintaining an efficient and credible examination process nationwide.
